Meat Trimmer/Butcher
Alliance Farm Butchery is a new and growing family owned and operated on-farm butcher shop located on Rise’N’Swine Farm in Holland, NY. AFB was created to help ease a major need for our own farm and a small group of other local meat farmers, by providing reliable and timely access to quality animal harvesting.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Assists Head Butcher with neatly trimming all varieties and cuts of meat while operating tools and equipment safely
- May assist with cutting and packaging meats when needed
- Assists with cleaning and sanitizing shop and equipment at least once daily
- Performs weekly deep cleaning of the shop and equipment
- Ensures equipment and tools are safe and sanitary before use
- Ensures work is done according to regulations and procedures at all times
- Assists Head Butcher with slaughter of beef, pork, and lamb (USDA inspected and custom exempt)

- Part time to start, full time by the time our brand new slaughter facility is completed – expected to be operational around May 2023
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Experience as a meat cutter or butcher preferred
- Must be able to lift at least 50-75lbs and work in cold environments
- Have the ability to pay attention to detail, quality, and cleanliness
- Must possess good time management and organizational skills
- Have the ability to interperet and follow instructions, regulations, and procedures
